About Me

BB

A Londoner born and bred, Julie’s enthusiasm for London and its history comes from a childhood spent exploring the sights and attractions of London, and she spends her days ensuring her guests have a fabulous experience in one of the best cities in the world.

Having spent over 29 years working for Barclays Bank plc, during which time she progressed from the grand position of ‘Junior’ to a Senior Project Manager in the property division, Julie decided it was time for a change and set up London Town Tours in 2010.

With her background as both a training manager and a project manager, Julie utilises her skills in planning, communication, and health and safety to ensure that you have an enjoyable, interesting and memorable experience.

Julie was thrilled (and very surprised) to feature in the BBC documentary The Stuarts, delivering her tour on Charles I and the Civil War.

During the 2020/21 pandemic, Julie co-authored a book entitled ‘Florence Nightingale’s London: An A to Z of the Lady with the Lamp’. The book can be purchased via this link and Julie is available for both walks on Florence’s London and talks relating to the book.

Julie is a member of the Institute of Tourist Guides, British Guild of Tourist Guides, City of Westminster Guide Lecturers Association (former Chairman) and the City of London Guide Lecturers Association.
