Discovering Londinium

Discovering Londinium: Put on your toga and step back 2,000 years to discover the founding of Roman London and the many remains that can still be seen today. Londinium was founded in AD47 following the invasion of Britain by Emperor Claudius. Burnt down in the 1st century by Boudicca, the Romans rebuilt the town bigger and better than before, and it soon became the capital of the Roman province of Britannia. From the Roman Wall that encircled the city, we walk through Londinium to find out how the Romans lived and visit their Forum (marketplace), military fort and the amphitheatre.
